ABSTRACT

Boundary integral equations and Laplace transform domain fundamental solutions to simplified u-p formulation of two-dimensional dynamic poroelasticity are derived. The exact mathematical form of the time domain fundamental solutions are derived as functions of four parameters. Approximate expressions are proposed for these parameters. A set of numerical results are presented to highlight the salient features of the subject as well as to investigate the accuracy of the proposed approximations. It is shown that the approximate transient fundamental solutions of Chen (1994) have a purely accuracy in the special case of u-p formulations.
