ABSTRACT

The potential for mineralization of 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D), me-coprop, isoproturon and terbuthylazine was studied in soil and aquifer chalk sampled at a agricultural field near Aalborg, Denmark. Mineralization of all pesticides was observed in the soil, but only 2,4-D and mecoprop were mineralized in the chalk. Furthermore, the effect of aging on mineralization of atrazine and mecoprop was studied. An effect of aging on the mineralization of atrazine was observed in soil as well as in chalk. No effect was observed on mecoprop.
