ABSTRACT

Simulations has been done to study the parameter sensitivity for unsaturated flow, transport and biodegradation in a structured layered aquifer. In addition to establish representative material description for each of the layers, the anisotropy showed to be a critical factor for the flow field. Due to high concentrations in the contaminated water, adsorption capacity level as well as the adaption time for the microorganisms had a pronounced effect on the transport and degradation.
