ABSTRACT

Aiming to solve an environmental problem, the end result, time and finance have been the governing decision factors, whereas the environmental impacts attached to solving the problem have not been included. This Project incorporates a method, developed to include the overall environmental costs as a parameter for decision, as has traditionally been the case with financial and technical aspects. This method has been tested in a number of demonstration projects, where increased knowledge has also been gained of optimisation of the chosen remediation method.
