ABSTRACT
Author describes national system of engineering education in Lithuania. Special emphasis is layed on Civil /Geotechnical Engineering education. Lithuania is carrying out higher Higher Education reform. Up to now only Universities were eligible to award higher education degrees. Now it is on the way a new form of higher education institution — college. Only one University in Lithuania, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, has a program for postgraduate studies in Geotechnical Engineering. Author describes a Master’s program of Geotechnical Engineering, explains system of doctoral studies, names universities of Lithuania where Civil/Geotechnical Engineering courses are taugh, describes continuing professional development of Geotechnical engineers.
