ABSTRACT
This paper presents the general characteristics of the national Geotechnical Engineering Education System in Mexico. The data and main information was mostly given and obtained from the National University of Mexico, the most important and biggest university of Mexico, and some other universities who offers Civil Engineering Education. It is important to mention that in a country with almost two million of square meters, the diversity of weathers, morphology, geological conditions, etc. are enormous, so are the needs of engineering services in the field of geotechnical activities. As a result, there is a great variety in geotechnical education in the country, depending of the existence of a particular problem in each area of the nation.
