ABSTRACT

The objective of this paper is to give an overview of the ways in which computers might support undergraduate students in practicing the analyses of slope stability. Through the course of assignments students work in groups. They are required to accomplish a given task. Each assignment targets variety of objectives to achieve, e.g. practicing individual calculations regarding the safety factor of a given slope, team work implying exchange of experience within the group, applications of the slope calculation software, etc. Needless to say, a member of the teaching staff who is instructing the students supervises the work. Each case of slope stability is solved step by step, consequently the procedures are easy to follow and understand.
