ABSTRACT

An overview is given of the principles of the Statnamic pile load testing. A comparison is made with the traditional static and dynamic load testing methods to highlight the advantages of the method and its limitations. Examples are given of the first commercial applications of Statnamic on the European continent initiated by TNO since 1999. Practical experiences with the use of the 4MN Statnamic device with catching mechanism are described and linked together with seminars to train and educate local experts. Concluding economic considerations will be given when applying Statnamic in practice.
