Geotechnical engineering education and training in Belgium

This paper gives an overview of the geotechnical engineering education in Belgium. In particular, it addresses the issues of educational objectives and geotechnical curricula for the undergraduate, post graduate and continuing education. Emphasis is put on the university programs with a nominal duration of 5 years although also short duration engineering education in the higher education institutes is covered.
