ABSTRACT
Mining of the 1100 ore body at a famous copper and zinc underground mine will take about 30 years, and 4180N pillar is the last remaining transverse pillar in the 1100 Orebody. Although the high level of stress redistribution is unavoidable before the 4180N pillar to be broken in, it is possible to understand the cause of the instability and to optimise the extraction sequence for the pillar. In this paper optimum extraction sequence for 4180N rib pillar is modeled by using MAP3D and very interesting results are obtained.
