In this paper, a method of combination of engineering experience with numerical modeling is proposed to determine support scheme of soft rock tunnel at great depth. FLAC 2D Version3.3 (Itasca, 1996) is employed to compare and propose schemes of tunnel support in this paper. The scheme of tunnel support is practised at a soft rock tunnel in No. 10 Coal Mine of Hebi Coal Mining Administration in China. The field measurement shows the support effectiveness is quite satisfactory.
