ABSTRACT

Numerical simulation of truss-bolt supporting jointed roof has been studied in this paper. By using the FLAC program, the optimization of designing parameters concerning the length of tie bar, the setting angle of bolt and the anchor force in truss-bolt system has been presented. The crucial issues such as the displacement, the stress field and the development of plastic zone in surrounding rock have also been investigated. The research shows that the lateral resistance of bolts plays an important role in stabilizing the jointed roof. The validity of the research was verified by the field tests of engineering applications.
