ABSTRACT

Mining of the 1100 ore body at a mine will take about 30 years. At moment mining operation has lasted 15 years and has induced surface subsidence. The prediction of the subsidence profile is vitally important to the further planning of mining operation and safety purpose. In this paper the continuous surface subsidence profile induced by extraction of 1100 ore body is modeled. The numerical modeling package used for this analysis is called Map3d, which is a state of the art three-dimensional boundary element stress analysis package for design and analysis of surface and underground mining engineering. The results obtained from the modeling are helpful to ensure that mining production is being carried out in a safe environment.
