In many cases, high rank road traverses across aboveunderground gobs in some mining areas. Unlike the influence of the mining activities under some buildings, the high rank roads are comprehensively influenced by the underground gobs formed in the past and distributed over a large range. In that case, the prediction of the residual surface subsidence must be done. In this paper, the probability integral theory is introduced as a basic theory and Sulstowicz time coefficient of subsidence on mining depth and rock character is also applied in the dynamic function on displacement and deformation, so as to predict the residual surface subsidence under any mining shape condition. The influence of the surface subsidence has been divided into two prediction stages: the overall period and the preceding period. The magnitude of the residual surface subsidence can be obtained by superposing the magnitude of the displacement and deformation of the overall period and the preceding period. GRID data system is applied here to gain the contour line for analyzing the graph of the residual surface displacement and deformation. It has been proved that it is an effective method to analyze the influence and damages of highway caused by underground gobs through the distribution condition of the displacement and deformation of the whole basin. The computer prediction assessment system, established by the above theoretical model and method, has been used in Taiyuan-Jiuguan, Jingchen-Jiaozuo, Wulumuqi-Kuitun and Xuzhou-Lianyungang highways, from which the damage of underground gobs is successfully estimated. All the practical application shows that the method is simple, practicable and effective.
