ABSTRACT
The software (Drill Assistant) specifically for the drilling procedures in coal mine engineering is introduced. It helps drilling engineers free from the complicated calculating work by hand and calculators, enhances the working proficiency. This software includes two main routines: normal drilling procedures and directional drilling procedures. In normal drilling procedures, the software can implement almost all the necessary calculation jobs, such as processing survey data, calculating and plotting course of holes or group holes, calculating the distance between adjacent holes of group holes around a shaft in any depth, etc. Also, it includes all the routine computing work in directional procedures, such as calculating the estimated or the real dogleg severity, calculating the estimated or the real reaction torque angle, determining the direction of tool face, etc. It has been testified that the software can help to reduce greatly the drilling cost.
