ABSTRACT
By means of DEM (Distinct Element Method), the drawing of top-coal on a single opening and the whole caving process when support advance are modeled in this paper. Several new opinions are proposed such as arc-ellipsoid drawn body, drawn body deviation, loose top-coal falling and caving with the suggestion of the favorable drawing interval for 3.5~5.0m thick-seam.
