ABSTRACT

Truck/shovel status can be classified as two main categories, operating status and auxiliary status. By means of accurate global positioning system GPS, the truck/shovel status can be distinguished and converted automatically through analyzing relations between trucks and haulage network and information of trucks’ performance. According to operation status and position of trucks and the information of dispatched tucks for shovels, real-time optimized assignment can be classified as five types: loaded truck normal assignment, empty truck normal assignment, loaded truck abnormal assignment, empty truck abnormal assignment and reassignment for shovels under unbalanced condition. In accordance with different types of assignment, different dispatching procedure shall be taken. This paper puts forward two new dispatching procedures, “earliest completion of truck loading” procedure and reassignment of truck dispatching for shovels under unbalanced condition. It was reported that more than 20 measurers were cut down and the productivity has increased by 8% by applying the above-mentioned dispatching procedures.
