ABSTRACT
This paper presents an overview about online measurement technologies for the rapid quality and quantity determination of coal used typically in the German hard and brown coal industry. Especially the quality parameters ash content, moisture and sulphur content as well as the lower calorific value are in the main interest of coal producers an coal customers. A comparison based on the experiences of more than twenty years of handling with , calibrating and developing of online technologies for the coal industry will show the usability, the limits, the needed working conditions and the possible applications in the coal and mineral industry.
