A material model for rock salt including structural damages as well as practice-oriented applications

This article compiles the factors to be generally considered from today’s point of view as well as the still existing deficits in the field of material model developments for plastic-viscous salt rocks. Consequently, a new material model Hou/Lux is introduced, based on the Lubby2 material model and on the fundamentals of continuum damage mechanics. The article then shows first possible applications.
