ABSTRACT

The Central Directive of the Dutch Ministry of Defence developed a Standard with Recommended Practices (specifications) that prescribes the structural evaluation of jointed rigid and flexible pavements of military airfields. The Standard is currently being used as the Standard Evaluation Method for pavement evaluations in the Netherlands. The Standard has been drafted as a NATO Standard and is submitted for enquiry to NATO's Agency for Standardization.

Based on this Standard, a software package called Pavers was developed. Pavers is an acronym for Pavement Evaluation and Reporting Strength. It is the philosophy of the developers to share the knowledge gathered in the Standard with others working in the field of FWD based evaluation. Those who are interested are invited to download a free copy of the Standard at www.aperio.nl. However, if you’re seriously interested in obtaining a copy of the software, a contribution for the on-going development is asked. Updates are released in the user's group at handling costs amongst registered users. At request, an evaluation copy of the program will be send to you by e-mail.
