ABSTRACT
The specific conditions existing in countries with arid climates determine the increased ecological demands to the development and functioning of agricultural and industrial sectors of a national economy. For estimation of its impact on the ecological state of small river basins, four main criteria were proposed: quantitative estimates of surface water pollution with 8 specific pollutants, soils — by hexachlorocyclogexane and by heavy metals,and the last one — the assessment of the biocenosis conditions by special hydrobiological indices. The method of ecological and hydrochemical mapping was developed, which was used for making the ecological and hydrochemical map of the Tashkent oblast.
