ABSTRACT

As a practical implementation of the international study by IEA Subtask Annex 27, a checklist has been developed. This checklist is meant to predict the Indoor Environment of dwellings. The checklist has been reviewed and improved based on extensive measurements in six dwellings. It also has been used to evaluate part of the housing stock of a Dutch housing corporation. The checklist automatically translates the input into a final judgement on four aspects: Air Quality, Thermal Quality, Acoustical Quality and Reliability of the ventilation system. The aspects especially relate to the ventilation system, but also take into account several other aspects such as the heating system, building properties and residents’ behaviour. In six dwellings extensive measurements have taken place on specific airflow rates, airtightness, CO2 levels, thermal comfort and installation noise. These measurements have been used to review and improve the evaluation tool. Finally, the checklist has been used in a part of the housing stock of a Dutch housing corporation.
