ABSTRACT

This paper reports the results of the static load tests performed on 10 ground displacement screw piles and 2 driven precast piles, installed on a site characterised by quaternary loam and tertiary sand, in Limelette. A comparison between measured pile bearing capacities and calculations based on the semi-empirical methods used in Belgium to deduce the pile bearing capacity from cone penetration tests (CPT) is also given. Out of this analysis the authors suggest installation coefficients for this specific test site, which can be integrated in the work of the Belgian NAD-commission for the Eurocode 7.
