ABSTRACT

Many advances in systematics and zoogeography of the Mediterranean Echinoderms occurred during the last thirty years. At present hundred forty four species are known, a third of which belong to Holothurioidea. Thirteen species and a subspecies have been described. Fourtheen others were not reported before. Faunistic investigations have been carried on in all the basins, chiefly in littoral zones. Results of recent investigations and some open problems are briefly mentioned here and a complete list of the species is given.
