Shallow water Asteroidea (Echinodermata) from the coral reefs of the Maldive Islands

Clark & Rowe (1971) counted 14 coral reef species of Asteroidea collected at the Maldives; Jangoux & Aziz added 4 species and mentioned 2 further ones of Macan (1938), not included in Clark & Rowe. As one, Heteronardoa carinata, is a deep water species and the other, Andora faouzii, same from the Arabian coasts, both species of Macan have to be omitted again.
