ABSTRACT

The threats from pests and diseases vary from one region to another : in the drier region (Valais) the normal treatment programme contains few fungicides (four) and often several insecticides or acaricides; in more humid areas (Lake Geneva basin), the number of fungicides rises’ to six, eight or ten, while often fewer insecticides/acaricides are used. The vine varieties with tight clusters are regularly treated against rot, whereas the Chasselas (straggly cluster) does not receive such treatment in certain vineyards.
