ABSTRACT

Citrus in the world are affected by several aphids of different economic importance; the most relevant species are the “brown” and the “black” aphids Toxoptera citricidus (Kirk.) and T. aurantii B.d.F., respectively , the “green citrus aphid” (Aphis citricola v.d.G.) and the “cotton aphid” (A.gossypii Glov.). Their geographical distribution, biology, damages (including their ability in the transmission of citrus tristeza virus),effectiveness of natural enemies, economic thresholds and integrated control measures are briefly exposed.
