ABSTRACT

About forty species of Thrips live on citrus in the world; nevertheless only few of them – mostly in the sub-order Terebrantia – actively infest the citrus groves: Heliothrips haemorroidalis Bouche, Thrips tabaci Lind., Scirtothrips aurantii Faure, S. citri (Moulton), S. dorsalis Hood. The GreenhouseThrips(H. haemorroidalis) is the commonest species damaging blossoms, fruits and leaves of citrus in Italy.
