A first list of the mites in citrus orchards in Italy (1)

The results are presented of an investigation on the mite fauna on citrus in Italy. The presence of 64. species has been observed belonging to 17 families. On these species 10 are new for the Italian fauna. The phytophagous species (12 in all) are fewer in number than the predators (28 in all) on than those with a varied feeding habits (27 in all).
