ABSTRACT

Phytophthora blight is a disease that severely damages container grown ornamental citrus in Eastern Sicily. The following varieties of ornamental citrus resulted affected in Sicily: calamondin, kumquats, bergamot, narrow leaf and bouquet bitter oranges, chinotto, lemon, and Eustis limequats. The disease is caused by the fungus Phytophthora citrophthora (Sm. & Sm. ) Leon. Conditions favouring the disease are described and control measures are suggested.
