ABSTRACT
After a review of virus and virus like diseases reported in the mediterranean countries the need of quarantine regulations inside and outside the mediterranean area and of clonal and sanitary programs under standard procedures is discussed. Criteria for growing healthy material and for maintenance of genetic and sanitary purity and fast multiplication procedures are also described.
