ABSTRACT

Pesticide spray tests were performed with a fixed multipurpose wind machine. Investigations included both the extent of plant canopy coverage and ground distribution, providing a diagram that demonstrates the systems performance within and outside the study area. Drop size was also evaluated. The machine was also compared to two other spray systems in current use, air-injection and a mobile pump with hand operation. The three spray methods showed different features. The effectiveness of fungicides, obtained from leaf residues, in eight (8) sections of the plant canopy showed no statistical difference between the multi-purpose wind machine and the air-injection sprayer.
