ABSTRACT
Just before this session a detailed discussion took place within the FAO Commission Agriculture the establishing Code of Conduct on the distribution and use of pesticides. As a result of this it now seems most probable that the next session of the FAO Conference in November 1985 will adopt this Code. This will be of direct significance to the objectives of this meeting. Because the Code while setting clear principles for the future use of pesticides, it enphasizes that its objectives can best be achieved through increased support for the development and application of biological and integrated pest control.
