ABSTRACT

Two types of action thresholds were tested on white cabbage, red cabbage and savoy in the field. Thresholds of type A based on the infestation level of the pests by counting the insects while thresholds of type B based on the percentage of infested plants by caterpillars or aphids. The number of sprays and the amount of insecticides was reduced obviously by spraying according to the thresholds A and B. First results of a collaborative field trial of the IOBC/WPRS-working group of integrate control on field vegetables, in which simple action thresholds of type B were tested are presented.
