Purpose: The main objective of this research paper is to determine the awareness among students of higher educational institutes about cybercrime against women in Delhi.

Design/methodology/approach: A well-structured survey questionnaire was prepared to collect responses from students including males and females (both) of higher educational institutes. In total, 210 usable responses were collected. Data was analysed using a parametric test.

Findings: The results show that there is a significant difference between the levels of awareness about cybercrime among male and female students of higher educational institutes. Significant differences in awareness have also been found on the basis of number of hours used by students on the internet. However, no significant differences have been found on the basis of their age or qualification.
