ABSTRACT

The environmental industry has come into consideration recently owing to the concern of its safety and maintenance. Nanomaterials have been employed in providing advanced processes and solutions to a broad range of environmental problems. These are wastewater treatment, pollutants sensing, and production of alternative energy sources and the removal of pollutants. Nanoparticles having exclusive properties are capable of meeting the challenges of today’s environment in a sustainable way.

Liquid and crystalline materials influence nanosized materials through coupling. Nanomaterials of metals, transition metal oxides, graphene oxide, carbon nanotubes and silicates in their liquid and crystalline form possess different microstructural properties. A thorough discussion on properties, size, shape and type of materials are the main focus of this chapter. The presence of interactions between the constituents helps in their adjustment in different environments for their benefits in environmental applications. Advanced and crystalline materials are capable of providing superior opportunities in safeguarding the natural atmosphere.
