ABSTRACT

The advances in technology have revolutionized the healthcare sector. Machine Learning (ML) has helped create tools and methods for the effective management of large data in healthcare. The whole idea of developing ML is associated with achieving faster, efficient, and reliable results in the health sector. ML mainly comprises algorithms which when put together have the power to diagnose, display results, and feed date into databases faster than the traditional method of entering the data manually. As nowadays more clinically relevant datasets are available electronically, researchers have applied ML techniques to a wide range of clinical tasks, from identification and diagnostic tasks to prediction tasks. The use of ML in healthcare is increasing day by day which, however, comes with changes in its affordability and expertise required for output analysis. In this chapter, we will discuss new ML technologies applied for the management of large clinical data and how this has revolutionized the area of clinical trials.
