ABSTRACT

The impact of the Corona virus pandemic (Covid-19) for the tourism industry in Indonesia is certainly very influential. Post-pandemic, the number of tourists is predicted to surge. The purpose of this study was to determine the general arguments of the Covid-19 post-pandemic tourism activity that is potentially productive or not. The approach of this study was qualitative method that described and depicted an event naturally. The data collection in this study is using participatory observation for three months in three cities in Indonesia, deep interviews with eight informants, which are divided into six travelers and one expert and one practitioner, documentary studies, and literature studies. The results showed that revenge tourism is very likely to emerge because many people are bored at home. There are two balanced groups where three informants said they would carry out tourism activities after the pandemic, and three other informants said they would travel after the vaccine was found. This study can be implemented in current issues of tourism research, especially the matter of the tourism activity post-pandemic Covid-19’s impact.
