ABSTRACT

Rungia repens(L.) Nees is a spreading decumbent herb. It belongs to Acanthaceae family. Acanthaceae family is one of the ninth largest family of dicotyledons and comprises several species are of medicinal significance. It is commonly recognized as Creeping Rimgia and Kodaga Saleh in Tamil and Parpatha in Sanskrit. It is found all through India and Sri Lanka mostly as a weed in humid places. The whole parts of the plant were being extensively used traditionally for various purposes. The plant has been worked out very well and isolated numerous chemical constituents and had shown various biological properties. This check is an endeavor to compile all the details recorded on its microscopic, macroscopic characters, nutritional content, phytochemistry. pharmacology, and therapeutic exercises.
