ABSTRACT

Vanda tessellate (Roxb.) ex. G. Donis a medicinal orchid belongs to the family of Orchidaceae, which has a great medicinal value against various diseases. Various secondary metabolites are produced by this plant species, many of them are pharmacological interests. The important pharmacological activities are antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic, antioxidant, hepatoprotective, antidiabetic, and antiulcer properties. This chapter explains the evidence-based information regarding the phytochemical and pharmacological activities of V. tessellata.
