ABSTRACT

A wireless sensor network (WSN) consists of autonomous sensors that cooperate, or responsible for, collecting quantities of different items, viz. temperature, sound, vibration, etc.

It is also defined as a group of spatially dispersed and dedicated sensors for monitoring as well as recording physical conditions of the environment. It is dedicated to organizing as well as collecting data in a particular and central location. WSNs is able to analyze environmental and other conditions and issues. Temperature, sound, pollution levels, humidity, wind, and other attributes are basically collected using intelligent and wireless sensors. In other words, Wireless Sensor Network works in bi-directional fashion with wireless mechanisms through different nodes scattered in a sensor fields with each sensor connected with another sensor or multiple sensors. The internet of things (IoT) is an important recent IT development that is purely internet based and sensor connected. In the recent past, IoT has become very important and is growing rapidly in different sectors and areas and worldwide; various items and things are connected with the internet. Therefore it is expected and natural that WSN will be very effective and important in the field of IoT because its activities and works are increasing day by day. This work is especially dedicated to knowledge gathering and analysis on the internet of things and also to emphasizing the role of WSN in the internet of things. Gradually the applications of the IoT are increasing, and different types of WSN applications are emerging. All these activities are depicted in this context.
