ABSTRACT

The emergence of technology has helps us to generate solutions to minimize the risk of human errors in the complex systems. Artificial intelligence (AI) is an interdisciplinary promising approach for prompting the human brain functions and incorporating them into the machine to make it human smart. In every field, consumption of energy is increasing rapidly and is causing decline in fossil fuels. The most promising development in AI is artificial neural techniques, which can be used for wind energy source assessment and maximum power point tracking in photovoltaic generators. Efficient integration of microgrids and managing distributed energy can be achieved using AI techniques. Computer science and analytical techniques in the field of biology have been applied to understand basic machine learning to application challenges in medicine and agriculture. Hence, this chapter begins with the brief introduction and past history relevance. It reviews applications of AI in the fields of solar, wind, and other renewable energy sources. It deals with major breakthrough in acceptance, modeling, and simulation studies. Finally, the chapter ends with current trends and future prospects of AI technologies, which provides the opportunities to design and develop new mechanisms for specific applications in the near future.
