ABSTRACT

Energy efficiency means using less energy and thus reducing energy wastage and consumptions. The benefits of energy efficiency include reducing energy demand for energy imports, minimizing greenhouse gas emissions, saving energy cost, and reducing the use of fossil fuels. There are many opportunities and possibilities available for efficiency improvements in every sector of the economy, whether it be industrial, commercial, or municipal. Artificial intelligence (AI) can play a vital role in saving unconsumed and wasted electrical power. By using AI algorithms and data mining, we can develop a system that controls and manages electricity consumption to maximize energy efficiency. AI can revolutionize the energy management of commercial sector buildings such as shopping malls, hospitals, office buildings, stadiums, hotels, and educational buildings.

AI can be incorporated into three renewable energy technologies: energy forecasting, energy efficiency, and energy accessibility. Xcel and Nnergix technologies use AI algorithms for accurate energy forecasting of power and demand supply. Verdigris and Google Deep Mind technologies are used to optimize energy efficiency, while Power Scout and Verv are used for energy accessibility and cost saving. So for the improvement of energy efficiency, an effective strategy for incorporating AI is the need of the hour. AI platforms are being integrated with all sectors for energy cost-cutting and optimum energy efficiency in the near future.
