ABSTRACT
Today, we are at the top of the progress in every field. In this dynamic scenario of the present world, energy is the primary requirement of our daily life. Every device is nowadays power operated, and most of them are connected to Internet of Things. The global energy demand is increasing day by day with advancement and development. Fossil fuels will not be able to meet increasing future energy requirements; hence, we require sustainable solutions, i.e., renewable energy, which now can be used as an alternative source of unlimited energy for the future generations. One more reason to switch to renewable energy is the rate of carbon emission and pollution during the production and usage of fossil fuels. Renewable energy is clean energy in contrast to fossil fuels. This inexhaustible energy is replenished by nature at every moment and on a human timescale. This sector of energy has many issues and challenges, which may be addressed with intelligent technology. Artificial intelligence (AI) can be used to overcome these issues and challenges. In this chapter, we present a study on issues and challenges of renewable energy and AI applications to resolve these issues.
