ABSTRACT

While the overall age-standardized incidence rate for female cancers has been relatively stable over the past two decades, population growth combined with advances in early detection and treatment has resulted in substantial growth in the number of female cancer survivors. Surveillance for cancer spread or recurrence is tailored according to the type of cancer, patient age, and stage of survivorship. Lifestyle Medicine interventions can be employed during all phases of survivorship to maximize outcomes as well as overall health and wellness.
