ABSTRACT

Globally, grown and organoleptically accepted citrus fruits vary in chemical compositions. Traditionally, it has been utilized to treat various health disorders, later supported by reliable pharmacological studies wherein various extracts of citrus anatomical parts (peel, pulp, leaves) reported to exert protective effects against inflammation, malignances, cardiac illnesses, and diabetes owing to the presence of bioactive metabolites. In this chapter, latest reports about the secondary metabolites offered by various citrus varieties are discussed. Origin, part of fruit selected for the study, solvent utilized to extract secondary metabolites, identification, and quantification method/technique is also reported.
