ABSTRACT

Nanotechnologies play an important role in generating novel approaches for assessing food safety. Assimilation of nanotechnologies into the regulative decision-making process even so requires detailed assessment and agreement among global organizations and research organizations. An international regulatory landscape has been assessed in several countries across the globe regarding the application of novel technologies. Issues and challenges were discussed in the context of creating a global agreement on objective standards for food nanotechnology development, a framework, and review. It established the need for advanced approaches to allow quicker, less costly and more reliable methodologies. And subsequently, it reviewed the need for guidelines and reproducible methods to improve the application of nano technology to advance food safety and regulation. For policymakers, this chapter will be a brief reference as nano-food safety, nano-regulations come in the limelight.
