ABSTRACT
The article analyzes the architectural landscape of the Alexander and Babolovo parks of the palace and park ensemble of Tsarskoe Selo. The special feature of the studied architectural landscape is that the style-forming objects of the extensional composition consist of palaces and pavilions, and of the environment-forming – objects of the landscape gardening art. Work on preserving the planning structure and volume-spatial composition can be carried out by different methods, depending on a number of criteria. The selection and definition of a method is not always obvious even if there is a large block of regulatory documentation. Objective: to determine the main directions of preserving the architectural landscape of the palace and park ensemble of Tsarskoye Selo in a contemporary museum. In the course of the study, the following methods were used: archival and bibliographic, cartographic, analytical, field studies.
