ABSTRACT

In recent years, they talk about the secondary nature of Russian architecture relative to Western counterparts. This myth is largely false. They forget that the Soviet avant-garde was at the forefront of world modernism of the twentieth century, and the German school of lightweight structures was largely based on the idea of hyperbolic paraboloids by Vladimir Shukhov. The purpose of this article is to show on specific projects the process of borrowing ideas realized in the 21st century by architect Zaha Hadid (1950-2016, Iraq, UK), from the work of Soviet avant-garde architect Yakov Chernikhov (1895-1952).
