ABSTRACT

The modern environmental social movement is not correlated with either a special theoretical concept or a new value system. The subject of this article is the search and formulation of basic concepts that reflect modern environmental consciousness. Until now, the study of the parameters and consequences of the ecological crisis has been carried out in the framework of the traditional worldview characteristic of the New Time. As a theoretical basis of the new environmental consciousness used to be the conceptual apparatus of classical ideologies (liberalism, conservatism, socialism) in their variable mix. The latest report to the Club of Rome (2018) radically changes the situation of conceptual understanding of the environmental value system, building a new worldview on the basis of the concepts of “full world”, “new enlightenment” and the dilemmas arising from them. Answers to the challenges of the future arise based on new methodological principles and syntheses. Political ecology as a discipline of modern political science, points to such systemic values as an ecological state, ecological political sovereignty, justice, and responsibility.
